Check engine light comes on when you plug a reader in it says error not reading when the light is off it will read but no codes come up. When the check engine light is on there is a loss of power and the a/c stops working, let it sit for a few hours and light is off and every thing is fine.

Is the engine overheating? It is going into power loss mode. Do you have a scanner that can read what is happening when the vehicle is being driven?

No it does not overheat. Like hook the scanner up and drive around with the scanner on, but it hasn't been able to read with the check engine light on.
