1996 Saturn Sl2 Backing 96 Manual Transmission Went Shift Car Into 1st Gear

I was backing up my 96 Saturn SL2 manual transmission and when I went to shift the car into 1st gear the shift stick suddenly became wobbly and I cannot shift the car out of reverse. The clutch seems to work fine. The shift handle just moves freely around and will not go into any gear. So now the car will only move in reverse.

You need to look at where the cables attach to transmission and see if they came unhooked?Then look at the base of the inside shifter and see if the black cable end broke that attaches to the inside shifter?My guess is the cable end broke that attaches to the inside shifter if it did let me know so i can tell you how to repair the cable and fix it till you get the part.
