What would give false full tank reading on gas gauge?1996plymouth rally van 6 cylinder. Replaced fuel pump, filter, and pump relay. Wont start. Gas wont go through the filter to the front. Gas will be in the fuel rail after it has set overnight. Thanks for any and all help!

The float could have gotten stuck in the full position, otherwise the wire going to the Body Computer is grounded. If the fuel gauge goes to empty when you unplug the fuel pump connector, the float must be inspected.

The fuel pump is not supposed to be running all the time. When the ignition switch is turned to "run", the pump will run for one second, then stop. It should start running again during engine rotation, (cranking or running).

Besides the fuel issue, have you checked for spark? If you do have spark, we have to troubleshoot the fuel system. It's much more common to be missing spark AND fuel. Then we have to troubleshoot what both systems have in common, and that's the automatic shutdown (ASD) relay, crankshaft position sensor, and camshaft position sensor.
