1996 Plymouth Neon Repair Question

Plymouth Neon Odometer Problem
What causes the odometer to stop working periodically, especially when changing lanes. Odometer starts working again after vehicle has been parked. What can I do to fix it ?

Mine did the same thing all it was is a bad ground connection. Pull it out and run a ground a wire from it to some meddle on the car I ran mine to the cd player
