Inginition key cyl car wont run
Hi i have 96 olds cutlass supreme with VAT system an i replace ingnition key cyl cause wire was broke it wouldnt start before but now it turns over but wont run how do i reset security system.

did you have a new key cut at the dealer?? it cannot be the skeleton key you got with the replacement cylinder. you need the old key to measure the resistance to have new key made

did you do the password learn???
if not, try this. turn the key to start then back to the on position. let it sit till the security light goes out. it will take about 10 minutes.
you need to do this procedure 3 times and after the third time, the password is learned. if it starts, good job. if it does not, then there is another issue
