If the brake fluid leaks from where the master cylinder bolts up to the power brake booster. does that mean you have to replace both master cylinder and power brake booster. I told master cylinder off and the push rod seal from the master cylinder came off.
You need to replace the master cylinder. Clean up the booster the best you can.
Thank you. what do you mean by clean up the booster?
I'm looking for a master cylinder online. But I don't know what part I need. On on my car master cylinder it also has a big black box. would I just need to buy the part where the brake reservoir bolts up to?
You only need a master cylinder, but if you can upload a picture for me to see, I can tell you what the "black box" is.
I took it off today.
That part deals with the ABS. You should be able to remove it and reuse it.
Thank you so much. I hope thats what wrong with it. I thought I had to replace the booster because the seal on the push rod. I didn't know the push rod was for the master cylinder. thank you
