I have a96 nissam maxima I have a problem starting it it will crank but not start. Already replaced the camshaft position, tested the fuel injectors, checked the battery, and spark plugs and it still is a hassle starting it. Ussually it takes about 4 attempts for it to start and sometimes it wont start at all. Also the check engine light is on dont think its the knock sensor because ive been told that it doent cause the check engine light to go on would appreciate any help

Check engine light on

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

Already had it scanned but the mechanic said it was the cam shaft position thats why I changed it. The only other thing that I can attribute this to is that the second day after I bougth it I changed a small hose that was leaking fuel dont know exactly what it distributed to, but the hose is located above the clip on of the part of the knock sensor hose not the part were u screw on right onder and between tha plugs and all that mess thats hard to get in.
