1996 Mercury Sable Car Would Start Replaced Battery Battery Light Came On Died

My car would not start so replaced battery, then battery light came on and car died while driving it. Changed alternator. Battery light still on. Did diagnostic check on new (reman) alternator and it tested good. Any ideas?
