How long since a tune-up? any applicable codes? When the problem occurs, did you visually check for spark at the plugs? Also, use a gage and check fuel pressure. You have to test when the problem is ongoing.

Are you using a block heater on the engine? If so try checking the fuel pressure if its within specs if so test the coolant temperature sensor-start here
