1996 Lincoln Town Car Repair Question

My Lincoln Towncar starts and idles fine. When I put it in gear and accelerate it stalls and will not run. If I take my foot off the accelerator it moves along at idle speed.
It starts and idles fine. Just won't take gas when I accelerate in drive. Wants to stall out.

check fuel pump pressure, check throttle position sensor... If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
