Immobilizer not deactivating

Jeep grand cherokee 1996 right hand drive, immobilizer problem not deactivating car, starts and then shuts down, remote batteries have been changed doors will unlock except drivers door have had problems in past with wires running through to the drivers door, wire breakage affecting electric windows and door locks is it possiblre there is a damaged wire in same place affecting immobilizer any help would be appreciated

It is indeed possible but that would be quite uncommon. There's wires running to a switch on each door key cylinder but if one is broken you'd still have the key fob to disarm the system. The exception would be if a broken wire is touching another one making the Remote Keyless Entry Module think you're locking the door with the key. To prove that, try starting the engine with the door fully or part-way open.
