Honda Accord Gas Problem

Tonight I noticed smoke coming from under the hood right side on an intermittent basis. Initially I thought it was another car creating the smoke. It started again as I was within 6 blocks of home, then stopped and as I attempted to put the car into reverse to park it at home,, it died. Any ideas? I do have a small crack in the tranmission block, but we've been monitoring fluid level, although I saw some leakage on the pavement yesterday. In the past year I've replaced the steering rack, the head gasket , had oil leaks repaired, timing belt and radiator replaced . Having it towed tomorrow morning. Any ideas? Thank you.
