That's what we pay mechanics to diagnose. They will listen to it, feel it, determine what affects it as in temperature, speed, and load, and figure out which area it is coming from. They will make an educated guess among the dozens of possibilities, and then they may still need to disassemble things to confirm the diagnosis.
