I have an intermittent dying condition, in gear @ any speed, coasting, or stopped @ a traffic signal. Recently a new idle speed motor was replaced, this however didn't have any effect on the condition.

The AIS motor has no affect when driving at higher speeds than idle. For intermittent stalling, the two most common causes are the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor. Typically the Check Engine light will turn on and a diagnostic fault code will be stored in the Engine Computer. Many auto parts stores will read those codes for you for free. They will get you into the circuit or system with the problem, not necessarily the defective part.
