1996 Chrysler LHS Repair Question

Chrysler LHS Engine Problem
We bought this about 4 months ago. Last Sunday, the check engine light came on. According to the code, there was a possible short in the trans control module. Then on Thursday, The instruments went down. They come on for a second, and then it all shuts down. Any ideas?

Start by checking the charging system. Measure the battery voltage with the engine off and with it running. When running, the voltage must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If it is low the many computers on the car will do weird things. The instrument cluster is a computer module and it gets its information from the Body Computer.
