a friend fixed my water on my chrysler cirrus, now he says my ecm needs to be flashed is he correct or did he mess something up

The first thing I would check is for a vacuum leak. Chances are he knocked a vacuum hose off when he was working on the pump.

okay thank you! I will do that! Could there be anything else wrong with it? It starts but when it goes into gear it cuts off.

Check the idle air control valve (IAC). It is on the throttle body and is responsible for the idle.

Let me know what you find.
