I have a 96 chevy c1500 pu with a 5.7l engine 2wd. I started it and the battery light is on and it does not look like it's charging, but it doesn't seem to be losing a charge either. The battery and alternator were replaced about 1 or 2 months ago.

Maybe a draw on the battery.

Use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off. The generic spec for a full charge is around 12.6 volts. Next, take second reading across battery posts, engine running. The second reading should be higher than the first if charging system is working.
