The car wil not crank after short drives in warm weather and it is not overheating.

1996 Lumins 3.1 Liter sedan, after a short drive and shutdown will not start. Sometime the starter clicks sometimes not. If I wait anywhere from 2-7 minutes it will start. The starter has been replaced and the spare key does the same. The spare key was rarely used. A test light shows the Starter cable is hot when it does not crank. Only happens during warm weather around late spring and all thru summer. What could be the cause?

It sounds like the head gasket is bad and needs replacement. You can do a compression test to confirm this.
