I have a 1996 camaro. I recently was driving in the interstate and my car jumped three times and than died going 70 miles down the road! We than pushed it to a mechanic. The car would turn over and idle really ruff for sparatic amounts of time and than as soon as u tried to give it gas (which no matter how hard u pushed the gas peddle it wouldnt give any) and it would just die. It turned over like six times and we just let it sit for the night. A mechanic looked at it and told us it was the fuel pump, so we changed that. But it still wont stay running, it will turn over, I know its not the starter, and there is electricity running to the fuel pump, i dont think its my fuel relay. I checked my spark plugs and there is spark to ignite, i just am totally stumped as to what it could be and how to fix it on a budget! Please help!

Is there any possibility that it is just the fuel pump relay? That is what we are checking now, if not how to do fix the timing?
