1995 VW Golf CTi, swings but refuses to start.

Hi I've asked you guys a question about my VW golf CTi 1995 model that swings but refuses to start. We have rooted out the problem that the injectors aren't spraying fuel into the motor. So we sprayed quick start into the intake and voila the car wants to start up but only back fires.
This car is fitted with a K Jetronic fuel system. I do have pressurized fuel coming to the fuel distributor/divider. From this unit there is not fuel travelling down the fuel lines to the injector. Could this unit be faulty?

yes it could, very old system. the flapper does not move thus not allowing any fuel to the motor.

backfires?? it needs engine vacuum to make it work. i would start with a compression test first
