The car won't start. For about a month, it clicked when the key was turned and shaking the battery and cables seemed to fix the problem. Now it clicks sometimes (battery shaking to no avail) but when it does turn over (and it turns over just fine) it wont click again for a while, we cleaned the cables which fixed it, but now the engine wont run.

We did check for spark, and that's fine. We took the plugs out and dried them, but they seemed to get wet right away--even without stepping on the gas.

Yes, though I think we may have "caused" the second problem when we were addressing the first. The first problem was the "click" 2 or 3 times, then it would start.

The immediate problem is that it does turn over fine now, but won't start at all.

We did retest for spark. My husband would know the engine better, but it is a 4 cylinder and I remember seeing "2200" on it yesterday.

i sandblast plugs in order to clean them properly. the ceramic cone around the electrode if dirty and not white will conduct spark when wet and nix the plug firing the mixture so no start.

when flooded you can disable fuel pump and hold pedal to floor and see if it starts.
