Can I replace the ignition without having to reset the computer?

Ignition will not turn with key in, there is no pressure on the steering column lock to prevent it from turning. Tried all I think of including Wiggling the the steering wheel to release pressure on column lock and jiggling the key a little while trying to turn it.

You will have to dis-connect the battery to do the ignition switch. This will baseline the computer but should not have any adverse affects.
