unanswered problem

I have a 1995 Subaru legacy ls sedan 2.2 engine automatic transmission, and here recently it started having problems. It sit for about a year then i drove it like 270 some miles and i didnt have a problem with it until the next day, When i put it in any gear besides neutral and park, it kicks in gear, then the motor shuts off, can you please help me?

Get a socket that fits the bolt in the middle of the crankshaft pulley, then use a breaker bar to rotate the crankshaft back and forth just a little. If your torque converter is stuck, this may free it. Now try starting it and let me know if the engine starts right up normally.

What is the idling speed when in Neutral or Park?

ok i will try that, and the idling speed is 1 mark under the 1st one

That indicates it is at 750 rpm at idling, which is as specified.

You could have a bad torque converter. Have you tried what Danlesabre suggested? It is the first step you should start with.

Try increasing the idling speed to 1000 rpm and test if it stalls when shifted to D or R.

Since your car sat for a year, check your transmission fluid level.
