Car ran fine forever then one day its sputtering like its missing or out of gas. Step on the pedal and bogs and gags and stalls almost. Put it neutral and idols and runs fine. What the hell is this

I had someone look at it and was told that the transmission soleniod was bad and the overdrive was causing the problem ive bought parts but not yet fixed until saturday

Check fuel pump pressure, for vacuum leaks, and scan the computer for trouble codes.
