High gas consumption , strong gas smell, rough idle and popping when accelerating ....this stops when the car reaches 50 plus miles ??? 95 Pontiac Grand Am (manual trans)
Car was running rough and gradually getting worse so we replaced spark plugs ... this didn't work changed the 2 ignition switches under spark plugs ...baffled at the change in gas consumption and strong gas smell ....went from getting 350 miles to a tank to 125 ????

That exact same thing happened to my ford probe, I never figured out what was wrong with it
