A/C UNIT NO POWER

1995 Nissan Truck • 90,000 miles

The A/C unit in my Nissan Pickup truck receives no power. When the A/C is turned on, there is no power to the compressor. What are the probable causes to this? Thank you.

The first thing you have to check is the ac pressures if there too high or low the ac compressor will be disabled.

Hey saturntech9,
What would be a normal ac pressure? I'm not sure if the reading I am getting is too high or too low.

The pressure with the ac compressor off should be around 80-100 psi on the high and low side.

How do you turn down the AC compressor?

You dont turn the ac compressor down. You still havent told me what the ac pressures are on the high and low side with the ac compressor off?

I don't have a gauge for the high side, but the low side came out to be about 120 psi.

Thats enough pressure to let the compressor come on. Does the compressor come on?Also do you have a test light?

The compressor does not come on.
