1995 Nissan Quest Repair Question

Wont Start
Power to solenoid with key turned to start
Tried jumping the battery.
Tried starting in neutral.
I crossed the terminals on the solenoid with a screw driver while the keys turned to start. The starter spins, but no engage.
ALSO when shifting the van, while in reverse or drive, theres a buzzing coming from or near the neutral safety switch.
I had removed the starter and had it tested immediately BEFORE it failed to crank (longer story) and it passed the test.
Could the starter have irronically had its last crank during the test?
Could the problem be the NSS?

If the starter is spinning with out engaging the Bendix is not engaging, get the starter o/hauled.

It was the starter/solenoid. Never trust the test machine at autozone.
