I have replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator. Could someone give me a picture of how the thermostat goes in because I possibly could have put it in wrong.

Should the side with the spring be facing toward the engine or away from it and does the air relief valve have anything to do with the thermostat or my car heater not heating up?

The spring side should be facing the engine-try checking the air blend door/actuator
