Lincoln Mark VIII Gas Problem

Car idles smooth but cuts out when you give it gas, Put it in gear will hesitate when you give gas but if you give it alot of gas it runs like a race car

Check for vacuum leaks at the intake.

ok thanx, also after you give it alot of throttle you get a bad smell in the car like boiled eggs

Check your catalytic converter. I think it is plugged. It can put off a rotten egg smell.

thanxs, is there anyway to check catalytic coverters myself have no way to get car to a shop?

It is checked by back pressure. If you never did it before, I would recommend a shop. Also, at night time, check to see if the converter is getting red hot. If it is, it is plugged.
