The best way you can check if its clogged is remove the egr valve start the engine for a few seconds the engine should rev up and your should hear a good exhaust leak. Lets see what you find and go from there.

You heard the exhaust what about the intake port to the egr they always clog up that side because it blows exhaust gasses into the intake. When you started the engine without the egr valve to the rpms go way up at idle?

Thats how you test the egr valve is by pulling a vacuum on the diaphram of the valve to see if it holds. The diapharm is the most common reason those egrs fail. They might rent one at auto zone. Its a must have in your tool box if your going to fix cars. If you buy one get the mighty vac brand one.I would pull a 20 inch pound vacuum on the valve and see if it holds.

If you read the trouble tree I posted for you it doesnt mention a transducer thats why I posted it for you to see. Also at this point I wouldnt trust what pep boys says at this point. Even lexus told you there wasnt one.I would also test the egr like I said too.
