1995 Infiniti I30 the engine will die down unless I leave my foot on the gas

After starting my car it stays running for a few seconds an then the engine will die down unless I leave my foot on the gas. What could be the problem?

Your idle air control valve has probably failed. There is coolant that runs through it, and over time coolant leaks into valve causing it to seize shut.
