Girlfriend drives about 5 miles in morning and during stop, car shuts off. Will start right back up again. She says the car sounds so quite that she hardly notices it running when it does other than very, very little vibration. When I test drove it fro about 20 min, drove normal and stopped, drive hight speed teh stopped, let idle for about 3 min and does not shut off. Seems to only happen in morning hours. Nothing has been modified on car and all stock. Changed O2 sensor 2 month ago becasue of fuel consumption but did not do tune up (cap / rotor / plugs / wires / fuel filter /air filter). Nor did valve adjustment on it at all. Could this be the problem since these items have been changed in over 2 years, even though car rarely gets driven?

Is the car an automatic or a 5 speed? The idle could be set too low and sometimes automatics will die in turns or at slower speeds. Could you go into detail about the fuel consumption? Is the car throwing a Check engine light? Not changing the listed parts could influence how the car is running but you would have to check each of them individually. The idle air control valve could need to be cleaned or simply an idle adjustment if the car is running fine the rest of the time.
