Ford Ranger Carrier bearing Problem
My truck has a pronounced "clunk" when I let off the gas and when I accelerate,. This especially pronounced in the 30-45 mph range. I checked the u-joints and the seem OK. There is some slop in the driveshaft carrier bearing. Could this be the source of the noise or perhaps the u-joints just need to be replaced. This truck is all original in this area.

if you see rust around ujoints replac ethem also see how much backlash you have in rear end it just may be a normal noise there sholdn't be aslop i in carrier bearing.
