ROUGH/MISS idle/and under throttle 25 to 30 KPH (40 to 50 MPH)
While stopped at traffic signal engine will miss/correct itself, miss/correct itself, miss/correct itself. (about 15 second intervals).
This engine is also DPI (6 injectors ) its not batch fired do i really need this pulse dampener?

iar pump is there for a reason. it is against the law to remove emission items like this.
it will not cuase missfires as the system works on gases after the combustion process.

Roy,
my question was concerning the check valve itself not the smog pump,I would never remove a smog pump under any conditions, can the check valve cause my problem?
Now; the fuel pump pulse dampener has nothing to do with the smog pump you should know that.
A friend of mine has the same truck i have. Same make, model, engine, color, you cant really tell them apart.
the only thing is mine has a fuel pulse dampener (#F2TE-AA/941212B),and his does not.
Maybe you thought i was talking about the bypass diverter (CX-560)I don't know.
My question was about the air ck valve (#CX-1162.)

Roy,
I removed the fuel pulse dampener from the fuel line, turns out it wasn't the check valve at all. The truck started running great only the injectors sounded as if every lifter in the engine was trying to jump out at once. The dampener was no longer available wouldn't you know. after some research I replaced it with A standard (FPD1 Dampener). The injectors are now once again quite as A mouse, and the truck is running like brand new.
You know experts told me that couldn't happen;well it did.
Thinks for all the help.
