CHEVROLET SILVERADO GAS PROBLEM

1995 Chevrolet Silverado • 266,000 miles

I got a 1995 Chevy K1500. Its got a decent amount of miles, about 266,000 and the engine is original to my knowledge. Well shes pretty doggy, and I know that TBI's arnt the snappiest and that it has quite a few miles on it, however, I know of other trucks with about the same status that have quite a bit more power. Its compression averages around 155, all of he ignition is good, and it doesnt run rough at all, it puffs a little smoke, but not much. Most people just say that it is worn out, and I understand that, but I would like to know what exactly is worn.

Check fuel pressure 9-11 psi on yours and spray choek cleaner at base of tbi to see if gasket has blown out. They do that a lot.

The pressure reads 11psi and the gasket doesnt leak. Any other ideas?

Check intaek manifold vacuum if 15" or below then suspect a clogged converter.
