Chevrolet Silverado Gas Problem

I got a 1995 Chevy K1500. Its got a decent amount of miles, about 266,000 and the engine is original to my knowledge. Well shes pretty doggy, and i know that TBI's arnt the snappiest and that it has quite a few miles on it, however, i know of other trucks with about the same status that have quite a bit more power. Its compression averages around 155, all of he ignition is good, and it doesnt run rough at all, it puffs a little smoke, but not much. Most people just say that it is worn out, and i understand that, but i would like to know what exactly is worn.
