Is there a special tool to remove the trans mount on the driver side? I attempted 2use a socket (10mm I believe) but it did nothing but strip the thing. I see around the bolt head are slits as if something is 2b inserted & turn with the bolt as well. My car is a 1995 Beretta, base. With a 3100 engine & 4T60E transmission.

I feel you are describing a torx bit head bolt, these are a different design and a special socket or spanner must be used, these are some what like a star in appearance. check pic for an example of a torx head bolt.
