Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* Floor jack
* Jack stands
* Small fluid catch container
* Clean rag
* New fuel filter

1.
1

Park the Chevy Corsica in a well-ventilated area such as outside or inside of a garage with the doors and windows open. Make sure that the surface is level.
2.
2

Walk back to the rear of the Chevy Corsica and take the gas cap off the gas tank. This eases pressure in the fuel lines and will prevent the gas from spraying out of the fuel lines when removing the lines from the fuel filter.
3.
3

Jack up the rear of the Chevy Corsica and put the jack stands under the jacking points on both sides of the car. The rear jacking points on the Chevy Corsica are located under the side frame rail in front of both rear tires. Lower the Corsica onto the jack stands and leave the jack under the car.
4.
4

Crawl under the rear of the Corsica and locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter will be a round silver canister that is between the gas tank and the rear of the car. The fuel filter has a fuel line coming out of each end.
5.
5

Push the catch pan under the location of the fuel filter. Compress the ends of the fuel lines with your hand and a clean rag. Then turn the fuel line counterclockwise to loosen the line from the fuel filter tube. Pull out on the fuel line while you are still compressing the end of the fuel line with your hand. Use this same method for both fuel lines.
6.
6

Push the old fuel filter out of the bracket and slide the new filter into the bracket. Make sure that the imprinted arrow on the side of the filter is facing the correct way. The arrow should be pointing away from the gas tank and towards the front of the car.
7.
7

Push the fuel lines onto the new fuel filter tubes and then turn the fuel lines clockwise to secure them to the fuel filter. Gently pull out on the fuel lines to check that they are secured well. Remove the catch pan from underneath the car.
8.
8

Put the gas cap onto the gas tank. Get in on the driver side and turn the ignition key from on to off three times to prime the filter. Then, crank the motor.
9.
9

Look under the rear of the Corsica and inspect the new fuel filter for any leaks while the motor is running. Turn the motor off.
10.
10

Jack the Chevy Corsica back up and pull the stands out from under the car. Lower the car back to the ground and remove the jack.
