transmission suddenly stoped working when turned cruise control on then hit the acel button and nothing happened never had any trouble before this 1995 cadilac deville

The cruise control influence should have had nothing to do with the concern, other than coincidental. If the transmission is not moving forward or reverse, it is a problem inside the transmission.
