Is there any way to access the codes for this car using a multi tester?

If it had the 12 pin connector you could flash the codes out but since yours is 16pins no you cant.

I will see if I can locate a used one. I had another issue that occurred this morning. I went to start my Buick & a sudden loud bang came from the engine. I opened the hood & the whole compartment was filled with smoke and the large vacuum line from my intake to the brake booster blew off from the intake manifold. I checked my PVC valve and it rattled freely. This happened many months ago once and the car was running good at the time. Please advise.

The cause of the noise and the hose blowing off was because of a backfire thru the intake manifold.Why i dont know yet we have to see what codes you have in the computer.
