Hello Sir, I'm having difficulties on my 94 Tercel. I've check compression, timing, spark, and fuel/air intake but for some reason I can't get the engine to turn over. I've been working on it for about a week now trying to follow youtubes and forums about it with no luck. I really don't want to take it to the shop because I'm fully capable of fixing it myself, I've done some mechanic work in the past. I just need some help on what else it might be. I can say that last night I did manage to get it to turn over and run for about five minutes but once I killed it and tried again it never turned over. It seems like I need to get the throttle in a certain position, and we were holding it by hand when we got it started and we can't seem to find that spot again. Is there anything you can help me with?

Scan or codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Auto parts rent it.

What is fuel pressure good isn't an answer and using your finger doesn't make it either. Should be 41-42 psi with a jumper wire installed in data connector +B to FP ignition on and engine off should hold to 21 psi for 5 minutes after test if not then check for bad pump and or regulator. Also check your efi main relay and fuel pump relay also check the throttle position sensor for resistance. See pic.

OK going to check fuel pressure again could not remember exact pressure but need to ask if there is a vsv for the fuel pressure regulator. Also run a test on the efi relay with a nine volt battery and it check out good.
