Runs rich and floods
1994 pont.with 3.1
starts easy and idles ok but will run very rich and almost flood out upon acceleration......very strong smell of gas

is CEL on/blinking? try reading codes?

cel light has been on for years but never had this problem.
I have no way to pull the codes
any advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated

possible MAP/MAF issue or maybe ECT, leaking FPR
