I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3.1 and it cuts out when I run the heat.

The car some times accelerates really slow from a dead stop. And it cuts out on the highway. I did notice is that it only does this when I have the heat on. Any ideas of what the problem could be?

I also forgot to mention that if it's fairly warm out the car runs great. All the grounds seem to be ok. When my mechanic drove my car it was in the 50 degree range and didn't notice anything wrong. But when I got the car back it was below 40 degrees and that's when it starts messing up. My temp gauge is normally around 160 when driving but then goes up to 210 when stopped

It shold be near210 all the time, it's funny you haven't set a code p0128. Check the radiator for being bad. After it warmsup shut off engine disconnect fans and feel radiator. If you feel any cold spots the radiator is no goood. Have your engine checked for head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets. They may be leaking.
