Turn signals faulty

I have a 1994 Oldsmobile cutlass and it seems the turn signals are not working properly. I switch it on and the signal lights up then goes out. If I hold the leaver just right it stays on till I let go. What is wrong? How can it be fixed?

When you say if you hold it just right it stays on, does it blink or just stay lit? If it blinks suspect the multifunction switch, if it doesnt blink, could be the flasher.

It blinks sometimes and stays on others its a hit or miss.

Do the easy cheap way first. Replace the flasher and check the grounds and bulbs fo r being burnt out.
