Just replaced engine in a 1994 Lexus es300. Starts up and runs great but then starts spraying water from the resevoir and it won't take water when you try to replace the water. What could be wrong?

WAIT FOR ENGINE TO COOL DOWN
add coolant and bleed coolant system
also check the fan as it need bleeding too

COOLING FAN SYSTEM BLEEDING
NOTE:Cooling fan system bleeding procedure must be used when any hose or component for cooling fan system is replaced or lines are removed. This ensures hydraulic pump side of power steering pump is properly bled.

Ensure vehicle is level. With engine off, check fluid level in pump reservoir, located near passenger's side strut tower or on radiator shroud. If system is hot, ensure fluid level is at HOT line on reservoir. If system is cold, ensure fluid level is at COLD line on reservoir. Add Dexron-II ATF until proper fluid level is obtained.
With ignition off, install Jumper Wire
between E1 and OP1 terminals of data link connector No. 1.
Data link connector No. 1 is located on side of intake plenum.
Start engine. DO NOT depress accelerator pedal. Allow engine to idle for several seconds until no foaming exists in fluid in pump reservoir. Shut engine off. Remove jumper wire from data link connector No. 1.
