I just replaced my distributor with a new one (the whole distributor). Now my car wount start. The plug cables are in the right order. Does it have to do with the timing? How can I solve this problem? What do I need to solve it? If I hav a mechanic fix it how much will he charge?

You've got to make sure that the distributor is at number one when the engine is at number one cylinder top dead center

How do I do that? Do I have to take off the cap?

Yes youll remove the cap and look at the rotor button. When you put the distributor in youll have to have the rotor off just a little to get it dead on your mark as it will rotate around a little as it falls into place
