I have a 1994 ford explorer xlt 4wd 6 cyl, that is not wanting to start, it has 1/4 tank of gas; the engine tries to kick over but it is not kicking over what could it be. The day before the car stopped working it was driving just fine not problems with acceleration, the vehicle is a 5 speed.

even though you hear it does not mean that the pressure is correct. you need a gauge to verify the 35-40 lbs required to allow it to start.
