1994 Chrysler Town and Country turn signals

When I turn on signals, left or right, both rear lights flash and the proper light up front flashes. When I hit the brake they stop flashing. Any ideas would help

Are both rear lights equally bright when they flash? Have you checked for a bad ground which could allow power to seek it way to a new ground via the other light? Have you checked for a short in the wiring which could send power to both lights?
