My battery was dead this morning, after getting a jump from my neighbor I noticed that in my message center my trunk icon appeared as if my trunk was open and it wasn't. I can't get the light to go off even though my truck is closed and it keeps draining my battery.

Remove the trunk light. If the battery is not dead the next morning, then the problem is that the light is staying on at all times.
In that case the deck lid ajar switch is faulty of has lost its ground.
Follow the wire from the trunk light, it will lead you to the switch.

I removed the light inside the trunk, yet the message center light is still on. I am going to keep checking on it. Someone told me to remove one of the battery cables for about a minute then reconnect then the system would reset itself and the light trunk icon should disappear? Is that possible?

It will not hurt to try the battery cable "trick."

Also remember that the "deck lid ajar switch" is what signals the info center reminder message, so check that switch. If it doesn't operate properly the message will not go away.

The switch has 2 wires, one is power the other is ground. Once the trunk is closed (or the switch removed and lowered to simulate the closing of the trunk) the contacts inside of the switch will close, thus completing the circuit to ground and then the computer will "know" that the trunk is closed and the light will not come on. I believe that either your trunk doesn't close all of the way (likely not the problem) or that the switch is faulty.
