94 chevy tk when it starts up its runs great until it kicks down 2 normal idle then it start hunting an will stall what causes that

Do you have any lights on the dash? If so, have the computer scanned first. Also, when was the last tune up? If it's been excessively long, do this next. Because before testing, you'll need to make sure these systems are good.

Next you'll want to check for a vacuum leak. Check the quality of spark, fuel pressure, etc. With so many miles, it may be a mechanical problem needing a rebuild.
